Mermaid Kenzie Protector of the Deeps
A beauty of a book with a powerful eco message. You can find my full review of this book in my blog post here.
Little Turtle and the Sea
Such a gentle way to explore pollution in our seas with children through the story of Little Turtle. Pairing books with small world play can help children to explore and talk about what they know and find out more. Check out my post on making and exploring story sacks here.
The Big Book of the Blue
The Big Book of series by Yuval Zommer are incredible non-fiction books. To take a peep inside what the books in the series look like head to this post.
Nen and the Lonely Fisherman
To find out oodles more and creative ideas for this incredible book take a read of this blog post. It’s such a special book.
Betty the blue whale
A delightful series that’s begun with A, B and C. Each story has a good moral, lovely illustrations and a fascinating fact page at the back. Check out my Instagram post here. To find out more information about all of the books click here.
The Baker by the Sea
A dreamy book in the most breathtaking limited palette set in time gone by. Just lovely. You can find my full review here.
The Sand Elephant
I really must do a full review of this wonderful book very soon. It’s a book that fills me with nostalgia from my childhood playing on the beach with nothing more than the sand to entertain my sister and me. The book shows the power of the imagination and how the beach brings children together in their shared, wonderous play.
Mrs Noah’s Pockets
This is the second in a superb series written by Jackie Morris and illustrated by James Mayhew. James uses wonderful collage to create the sublime images. You can find out a little more in my blog post here. There’s a video of Jackie reading this wonderful story on the post too.
