September is here and we’re starting the month with a BIG Yoto release – Bluey has finally arrived on Yoto!

I’ll be updating this post throughout September with all the latest Yoto Card releases for the UK, US, Australia, Canada and Europe. As always, when we get those enormous weekly drops I’ll pick out the releases I think are particularly worth knowing about, along with some of my own favourites and ideas for taking the listening further.
And I don’t think Yoto could have chosen a much bigger card to kick off the month…
September 2026 Yoto Releases at a Glance
So far this month we’ve got:

Card Drop – 18 September 2026 (Latest)
This is a brilliant Yoto Card drop for older listeners, with several really strong children’s books arriving on Yoto this week – including War Horse, Kensuke’s Kingdom and the complete Wild Robot trilogy. There are also two new KPop Demon Hunters music cards, alongside new releases for younger listeners.
War Horse
Age range: 8+
Available: UK, US, Canada & Australia
Michael Morpurgo’s much-loved War Horse has arrived on Yoto as a full, unabridged audiobook, performed by Luke Treadaway.
Set during the First World War, the story follows Joey, a horse separated from his young owner Albert and sent to France with the cavalry. It’s a powerful story of war, friendship and the extraordinary bond between a boy and his horse.
This feels like a particularly good addition for older Yoto listeners and could also work brilliantly alongside learning about the First World War.
Kensuke’s Kingdom
Age range: 7+
Available: UK, Australia & Canada
There’s another Michael Morpurgo release this week too. In Kensuke’s Kingdom, Michael is washed overboard and finds himself stranded on a remote Pacific island – where he gradually discovers he isn’t quite as alone as he first thought. It’s a fantastic survival adventure, but also a story about friendship, trust and understanding someone whose life has been very different from your own.
I Am Rebel
Age range: 8+
Available: All stores
I’m also really pleased to see Ross Montgomery’s I Am Rebel arrive on Yoto this week. Told through the eyes of Rebel, a devoted dog who sets out to bring his beloved human Tom home safely when war threatens their life together, it’s a story of loyalty, courage and friendship. This award-winning adventure looks like another great addition for older Yoto listeners.
The Wild Robot Collection
Age range: 7+
Available: UK & Australia
I’m really pleased to see the complete Wild Robot trilogy arrive on Yoto. The collection contains The Wild Robot, The Wild Robot Escapes and The Wild Robot Protects, following Roz from her first days learning to survive on a wild island through to the later adventures that explore her relationship with the natural world and the animals who have become her family.
The combination of nature, technology, adaptation and belonging makes these particularly interesting books, with lots of opportunities to take the stories further through STEM and nature activities. If STEM is an area of interest then this book which has a podcast you can add to MYO Yoto cards might be worth checking out.
KPop Demon Hunters: HUNTR/X & Saja Boys
Age range: 5+
Available: All Yoto Card Stores
I suspect these will be very popular releases this week! KPop Demon Hunters fans can now pick up separate HUNTR/X and Saja Boys Yoto Cards featuring music from the hit Netflix film. For children who already have the soundtrack on repeat, having the music available independently on Yoto is likely to be a big hit.
Also New This Week
Younger listeners haven’t been forgotten. There are two new Dora collections for ages 2–5 – Dora’s Magical Adventures and Dora’s Animal Adventures – plus the new Arlo’s Underwater Adventures: 5-Minute Stories.
There’s also a timely digital adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow for ages 7+, which could be a fun spooky listen as we head towards Halloween.
US and Canadian listeners also get a new BrainBots adventure exploring how Nellie, Buzz and Gibbs first became BrainBots.
Card Drop – 11 September 2026
It’s been a very busy week for Yoto. Before we even get to the new cards, on 10 September Yoto announced the brand-new 4th Generation Yoto Player and Yoto Mini.
There are some significant upgrades to both players, but the feature I’m most excited about is the new Green Button, which gives children quick, card-free access to a personalised selection of favourite audio. I’ve taken a much closer look at what’s changed, prices and whether I think the new generation is worth considering in my Yoto Player & Yoto Mini 4th Generation guide.
New Yoto Cards – 11 September
There’s a good mix in this week’s drop, including Winnie the Pooh Tales of Friendship, four new Baby Einstein cards, The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack and Sesame Street: Monsters at the End of These Books.
However, there’s one release that particularly caught my attention…
Gruffalo Granny
Age range: 2–5
Available: UK & Australia (Europe & Canada coming soon)
The Gruffalo is back! Gruffalo Granny is the first new Gruffalo picture book from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler in more than 20 years, introducing a brand-new member of the Gruffalo family.
What’s particularly interesting to me is the timing. The new book was released on 10 September 2026, with the Yoto Card following virtually simultaneously on 11 September.
I can’t remember seeing Yoto release a card quite so closely alongside the publication of a brand-new children’s book before. It feels like a really positive and much more proactive move towards having new titles available on Yoto while they’re genuinely new, rather than audio editions arriving some time after children have already discovered the books elsewhere.
I’m going to be taking a closer look at Gruffalo Granny, as I think it deserves a post of its own – bringing together the new book, Yoto Card and some Gruffalo Granny activities. I’ll add a link here once it is live.
Also New This Week
There’s plenty more in the full drop, particularly for younger listeners. Winnie the Pooh Tales of Friendship brings together five gentle stories about friendship, while Baby Einstein arrives on Yoto with four music cards covering the ocean, farm, classical music and lullabies.
There’s also the digital The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack – very well timed as we head towards Halloween – and Sesame Street: Monsters at the End of These Books, featuring Grover and Elmo.

Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories

It’s finally happened – there’s a Bluey Yoto Card!
Bluey has been one of the most requested additions to Yoto for some time, and the first official Bluey audiobook has now arrived.
Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories brings together eight stories based on much-loved episodes from the TV series:

10 Outro 1:14The card is narrated by Miranda Tapsell, who Bluey fans might recognise as the voice of Dougie’s mum, and it also features music from the original television series.
At 60 minutes for eight stories, these are lovely short listens for younger children – perfect for popping on at bedtime, in the car or when you want a little bit of Bluey without putting the TV on.
Given just how popular Bluey is, I suspect this could be one of the biggest Yoto Card releases of 2026. It’s important to note that although there is music from the original television series – this card is not an audio version of the TV stories. These are narrated stories.
If you have a big Bluey fan then there are now Yoto Bluey Bundles available.
Ideas to Explore Together
Bluey is brilliant for inspiring imaginative play, so there’s lots you could do after listening:
- 🏖️ Listen to The Beach and create your own beach picture or small-world scene.
- 🤖 After Daddy Robot, build your own robot from cardboard boxes and recycled materials.
- 🎶 Play your own version of Magic Xylophone – freeze whenever the music stops! Gosh this was a favourite episode of the whole family!
- 🎭 Choose one of the stories and recreate it through imaginative play.
- ✏️ Draw your own Bluey adventure and decide what Bluey and Bingo should get up to next.
Free Bluey Activities
There are also some free official Bluey printables and colouring activities available from Penguin, including a Typewriter activity and Bluey family colouring sheets. These would be great to print out and use while listening to the new Yoto Card.

My Pick This Week
I don’t think there’s any competition for the first pick of September!
Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories is such a significant addition to the Yoto library. It’s also interesting that Yoto has started with a collection of familiar episode stories rather than something completely new – for little Bluey fans, I think hearing favourite adventures without needing a screen could work really well.
The big question now is surely… will we get more Bluey Yoto Cards?
