Check out this post for several podcasts that are perfect for those who like a more spooky, scary genre.

Nosy Crow Audio – Stories Aloud

Nosy Crow have a feature with each of their picture books where you can access a free audio recording of the book. You can find more details here on the Nosy Crow website. Once you have scanned the QR code in the book you can access the audio. Then click on the three dots and you can download the file which is an mp3 file that you can add to your player.

Mdundo – African Music

I’ve always loved to play African music when I was teaching and my daughter really loves one of the songs I used to play a lot called Jambo Bwana. You can download it for free here as well as discover lots of other free music on the site. You can find a YouTube version of it with words below. Prepare to get it stuck in your head!

Storynory Free Story Downloads

Storynory is a podcast but they allow you to download their free content. You can find out more on their website here. If you head here and find the latest stories click then on ‘go to story’ button and then you have the option to download the story. Click on download and then on the three dots to download that story. You can also add it as a podcast – more details below. RSS feed is – https://blogrelations.libsyn.com/rss

Podcasts

You can add your favourite podcasts to your Yoto Make Your Own (MYO) Cards. Either using the myYoto log in (just like when you MYO cards) or using the Yoto app you can add the RSS feed for the podcast you want. Borrow Box

If you don’t already use Borrow Box I’d highly recommend it. It’s available to anyone in the UK and Australia and some parts of the US, all you need is a library card. You can borrow a wide selection of audio books for up to 21 days.

Once you’ve chosen your title you can download and add it like you normally would to a Make Your Own Yoto Card. Just keep a reminder of when your time is up on the rental so you can remove it from the card. You can always borrow it again in future.

Can you use Yoto as a Bluetooth Speaker?

Yes, both the Yoto Player and Yoto Mini Player can be used as a Bluetooth speaker. This means you can significantly expand what you can listen to on your players.

Flying Eye Books as Audiobooks

Flying Eye Books have announced that three of their wonderful books are now available as audiobook titles: Secret Lives of Unicorns, Secret Lives of Mermaids and Secret Lives of Dragons. You can find out more information about how to access these books here.
