Busy Busy Learning Free Audio Content

If you can cope with my brummie accent I periodically add free Busy Busy Learning audio content that you can add to your audio players. I’ve recently moved these resources all to one place to make it easier to access. You can now access these downloads here.

Nosy Crow Audio – Stories Aloud

Nosy Crow have a feature with each of their picture books where you can access a free audio recording of the book. You can find more details here on the Nosy Crow website. Once you have scanned the QR code in the book you can access the audio. Then click on the three dots and you can download the file which is an mp3 file that you can add to your player.

Mdundo – African Music

I’ve always loved to play African music when I was teaching and my daughter really loves one of the songs I used to play a lot called Jambo Bwana. You can download it for free here as well as discover lots of other free music on the site. You can find a YouTube version of it with words below. Prepare to get it stuck in your head!

Storynory Free Story Downloads

Storynory is a podcast but they allow you to download their free content. You can find out more on their website here. If you head here and find the latest stories click then on ‘go to story’ button and then you have the option to download the story. Click on download and then on the three dots to download that story. You can also add it as a podcast – more details below. RSS feed is – https://blogrelations.libsyn.com/rss

Podcasts

You can add your favourite podcasts to your Yoto Make Your Own (MYO) Cards. Either using the myYoto log in (just like when you MYO cards) or using the Yoto app you can add the RSS feed for the podcast you want.

If you don’t know the RSS feed then use this tool. There’s lots of podcasts for kids (do check the content first). I’ve been known to have my own secret stash of Make Your Own Cards and can be caught ‘borrowing’ my daughter’s Yoto when she’s at school! I add my favourite podcasts to listen to and audio books from Borrow Box. Shhhh…

One thing to note is this feature only works over WiFi so you can’t use it for podcast, for example, in the car.

National Geographic Kids – Greeking Out

This one is a podcast we really enjoy. There’s been a new 2024 series just started. It’s Greek myths so there’s plenty of death and other interesting bits (just to be mindful of if you have a sensitive soul listening). I actually really enjoy this one as an adult too. Borrow Box

If you don’t already use Borrow Box I’d highly recommend it. It’s available to anyone, all you need is a library card. You can borrow a wide selection of audio books for up to 21 days.

Once you’ve chosen your title you can download and add it like you normally would to a Make Your Own Yoto Card. Just keep a reminder of when your time is up on the rental so you can remove it from the card. You can always borrow it again in future.

Where to Purchase Yoto Make Your Own Cards?

As with all books, I treat audio books no differently and would always check the content before sharing with my daughter. It’s important to know what you are sharing aligns with your family values.
