Recovery from my surgery is still slow and I was back in hospital Monday/ Tuesday this week. Good to be home today and back reading and blogging. I’ve found I’m a little distracted for reading but I have been catching up on some blog posts and some crochet!
Embarrassingly, I started this blanket in 2018. It’s a crochet-along by Eleonora at Coastal Crochet called a Seaside Stash Busting Blanket. I’m on week 23 and there are 35! I’m determined to complete it in 2023. Do you crochet or knit?

Man on the Moon Collection – Yoto Card
A favourite collection of books that we love by Simon Bartram is on repeat right now. It is one of the shorter audio collections at only 23 minutes but in our opinion still well worth it; like I say it goes on repeat!
For ideas to explore Man on the Moon stories more head to my blog post here.
The Maid
I’m not sure I can really class this one as currently reading as I’m only two pages in! The Maid was from @what_emmy_read over on Instagram. I need my brain to be a little more focused for adult fiction.
Just Finished Reading
Bumble & Snug and the Shy Ghost
Bumble & Snug and the Shy Ghost was such a cracking read. So great we returned the library copy and purchased our own. from the library. As I’ve mentioned before they are perfect for early independent readers around 5 years +. Full review coming soon.
Here’s a link to some great activity resources for Bumble and Snug and you can find a BBC bitesize with the author here.
Accidental Trouble Magnet Planet Omar – Tonie Character
Well Accidental Trouble Magnet Planet Omar was a big hit. Floss now wants to read more Planet Omar books. There’s so much mischief, they’re a brilliant book for young reader. Plus at 104 minutes of audio it very often gets listened to until Floss falls asleep.
Spotted this KS2 activity resources for Accidental Trouble Magnet Planet Omar.
Fly, Butterfly, Fly!
A book from a series I love and it didn’t disappoint. A full review of Fly, Butterfly, Fly coming soon.
Future Reading
Finn’s Little Fibs
We love the Big Bright Feelings series by Tom Percival. Finn’s Little Fibs is the latest publication in 2023 and we’ve just had notification it’s ready to collect from the library.
The Art Playroom
A title I’m really excited to dive into is The Art Playroom. It’s a topic I’m really passionate about and I’m looking forward to getting more inspiration on making creative spaces in our home.
Any of these on your read or TBR pile?
