Setting up your Yoto Player or Yoto Mini is very simple to do. You need to make sure that you have a WiFi connection, have downloaded the app and follow the directions. I would totally recommend doing this before you give your Yoto Gen 3 or Yoto Mini to your child/ren. None of this is important to your child/ren. What your child/ren care about is what colour adventure jacket will their Yoto wear, what name will they assign to it and how can they personalise it so that everyone knows it’s theirs!

Yoto Player & Yoto Mini Adventure Jacket
First up, what colour clothes is your Yoto Player or Mini going to wear? We’re loving the new Purple – Grape Soda Colour. There’s a very cool Etsy seller I’ve spotted, Yoto BOT, selling robot design jackets.
You don’t have to purchase an Adventure Jacket for your Yoto although I would recommend one to give it added protection from any accidents.
Stickers for Yoto Players
Customising your Yoto Players further with stickers can be fun too. There’s some super fun vinyl stickers you can get or you can make your own. If you do use stickers to decorate your Yoto then I would suggest using vinyl stickers that are waterproof and you can easily wipe clean. Make Your Own Stickers
We love making our own stickers. They don’t have to just be for your Yoto Players then can be for anything. My daughter loved decorating her wheelchair with her own handmade designs. You can get vinyl paper such as this matt paper that you can use in a printer or use acrylic paint pens with. I particularly like these paint pens as there is not need to activate them by lots of shaking and pushing. There’s a glossy version of the paper too. Here’s some mushrooms we had a go at making. Can you tell we love mushrooms!
Choosing a Name
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet” from Romeo and Juliet.Â
Well a name may have been irrelevant to Shakespeare but naming your Yoto Player is an important part of the set up. Don’t worry you can change the name of your player at any time using the app. Our Gen 3 Yoto Player is called Blush.
Yoto Mini Cord Charms
A project that we’re looking forward to (we love crafts) is to add a charm to the Yoto Mini player and replace the cord.

A Home for Yoto Players – Holders
Where will your Yoto Player call home? We keep ours on a toy dolls house along with books that we’re reading or are ready to be read next.
You can get all sorts of different holders. CarvDesignStudio make a holder for the Yoto Mini (below) that stores several cards too. I like the idea of only having a few cards to choose from at once.
WildMarshCrafts on Etsy sell personalised docking stations (below) that are compatible with both 2nd and 3rd generation Yoto Players. There’s a lovely range of colours to choose from.
