Toniebox 2 Headphone Accessories: Wireless Headphones

Shrouded in mystery – the Toniebox 2 Tonies Headphones. When the Toniebox 2 launched I couldn’t find any information on Toniebox headphones. The Toniebox 1 had had a traditional audio jack port but there was not the same on the Toniebox 2. There is a USB C port which I’d wondered would allow headphones to be used. This post will tell you about the new Toniebox 2 Headphones and how they interact with the new Toniebox 2.

Tonie Headphones Getting Started

The hardest thing I’ve found is trying to get information about how the Tonie headphones connect and whether I can use other wireless headphones.

Now ours have arrived I have the answer to most of these questions. As I mentioned earlier, on the Tonies website it says that an update coming in future will allow you to connect to the Toniebox 2 with a wire but this feature is not currently available.

The Tonie Headphones come with a huge instruction booklet but thankfully that’s only because of the amount of languages. The actual instructions are very simple. Make sure that your Toniebox is switched on and the Tonie Headphones are switched on and place the headphones on to of the Toniebox 2 and they pair in a few seconds. Super simple! Our headphones also arrived 100% charged. To unpair you just tap the headphones on the top of the Toniebox again.

In the instructions it says that you can connect other wireless Bluetooth devices. I also had a notification in the Tonie app to say that others could be connected and more devices are being added. However, I’ve tried various wireless headphones and none of mine work currently, other than the Tonie Headphones; I’ll keep testing and update when I get a success!

Tonie Headphone Quality

I’ve been very impressed with the sound quality of the headphones. I’m no expert on sound but the audio sounds very crisp and clear to me. My other half is very particular about sound quality and he considers these very good for children’s headphones and describes them as having good ‘depth’ of sound.

Tonie Headphone Compatibility

I’ve been successful in pairing my Tonie Headphones wirelessly with my Yoto Players using the Yoto app. I currently can’t get them to work with Yoto Player via a cable but I’m not sure why. I can also use them with other devices such as phone and tablet wirelessly and with cord.

Flying with Toniebox 2

You certainly don’t want to be one of those flight travellers with your audio blaring out for all to hear so headphones are a great option. What I would say is that depending upon the plane and where you are seated you can find that devices are still hard to hear with a volume limit of 85dB +/- 3dB like the Toniebox 2 compatible headphones.

I can’t yet discover if you can pair other wireless headphones other than Tonie branded ones yet. I’ll report back when I find out. I’d be really interested to hear of your experience if you’ve travelled on a plane with your Toniebox 2 and wireless headphones and how it went for you. Generally, people have reported being able to use headphones up to 96dB has been more beneficial for aeroplane travel.
