August has arrived with one of the biggest Yoto card drops we’ve seen all year!
Rather than listing every single release, I’m going to focus on the cards that I think will be of most interest to Busy Busy Learning readers, alongside some of my own thoughts, activity ideas and useful links. I’ll continue updating this post throughout the month as each new Yoto card drop is announced.
This week’s releases have something for almost every age group, from Marvel superheroes and Blippi for younger listeners through to funny middle-grade fiction, educational adventures and some brilliant Australian exclusives.

Card Drop – 27 August 2026 (Latest)
It’s a small card drop to finish August, but I’m really excited about this one. The standout for us is definitely the new Earth’s Incredible Places Collection – exactly the sort of factual Yoto listening we love!
All Yoto Card Stores
Earth’s Incredible Places Collection
Age range: 7+
This new six-part collection takes listeners on an audio journey to some of the most extraordinary natural places on Earth, including Yellowstone National Park, the Great Barrier Reef, Mount Everest, the Grand Canyon, the Sahara Desert and the Amazon River. This is superb value in my opinion with a 3 credit exchange if you’re part of the Yoto Club.

Along the way, children can discover more about wildlife, geography, natural history and the people and cultures connected with these incredible environments. This is absolutely one we’ll be looking at – it sounds perfect for curious children and could inspire so many different learning projects. It’s certainly a series that I think would be perfect to have the book alongside. I’ll be finding out whether you can readalong with the physical and audiobook and report back.
Ideas to Explore Together
- 🌍 Find all six locations on a world map or globe.
- 📔 Choose a favourite location and create a fact page or nature journal spread about it.
- 🔎 Pick one destination to explore in more depth – its wildlife, landscape, climate and the people who live there.

There’s also a new French-language Yoto Original, Quiz pour les esprits curieux (ages 5–10), an interactive general knowledge quiz covering everything from animals and space to music and sport. Another lovely addition to Yoto’s growing collection of non-English audio. As it is a Yoto Original card, if you’re currently in the Yoto Club you’ll have this title available digitally for free.
Card Drop – 20 August 2026 (Latest)
There are some very exciting releases in this week’s Yoto card drop, particularly for fans of longer chapter books and fantasy adventures.
The big news has to be three new How to Train Your Dragon collections, taking us right through to the final book in Cressida Cowell’s series. There’s also a complete Greenwild Collection, which I’m especially excited to see – this is an absolute favourite series of mine.
Elsewhere, there are more Boxcar Children mysteries, relaxing nature sounds, new French Yoto Originals, music and several releases from independent creators.

How to Train Your Dragon Collections 2, 3 & 4
Age range: 5+
This is a huge Yoto release for How to Train Your Dragon fans! We’ve had the first collection for a few months so it’s great to see this huge drop of three more How to Train Your Dragon collections.
We got How to Train Your Dragon Collection 1 back in May, containing the first three books in Cressida Cowell’s series. Now Yoto has released Collections 2, 3 and 4 together, which means you can continue Hiccup’s story all the way from book four through to the twelfth and final adventure.
Even better, they’re all narrated by David Tennant, whose wonderfully energetic narration is such a good match for these stories.
Depending upon where you are in the World some BorrowBox locations have these titles available to borrow for free if you have a library card.
Collection 2 includes:
- How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse
- How to Twist a Dragon’s Tale
- A Hero’s Guide to Deadly Dragons
Collection 3 includes:
- How to Ride a Dragon’s Storm
- How to Break a Dragon’s Heart
- How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword
Collection 4 includes:
- How to Seize a Dragon’s Jewel
- How to Betray a Dragon’s Hero
- How to Fight a Dragon’s Fury
The books become more epic as the series progresses, with the later adventures building towards a much bigger story involving Hiccup, the dragons and the future of the Wilderwest. Although Yoto lists these as 5+, I’d personally bear in mind that the later books have more peril and higher stakes than the beginning of the series. This is often the case with book series that can progress as characters and readers become older.
If you’ve been waiting to collect the complete How to Train Your Dragon story on physical Yoto Cards, this is definitely one of the biggest drops we’ve had this year.

Ideas to Explore Together
- 🐉 Design your own dragon, including its name, abilities, habitat and favourite food.
- 🗺️ Draw a map of your own Viking island and add dangerous places for Hiccup to explore.
- ✍️ Create a Dragon Field Guide filled with drawings and facts about imaginary dragon species.

The Greenwild Collection
Age range: 8–12
I am so pleased to see Greenwild come to Yoto. This is an absolute favourite series of mine and one I’d really recommend looking at if your child loves magical adventures, nature and wonderfully imaginative worlds.
The collection contains all three books in Pari Thomson’s trilogy:
- Greenwild: The World Behind the Door
- Greenwild: The City Beyond the Sea
- Greenwild: The Forest in the Sky
The story begins when Daisy Thistledown discovers a hidden doorway into the Greenwild – a secret world where plants and nature are entwined with magic. What begins as Daisy’s search for her missing mum grows into a much bigger adventure spanning extraordinary hidden places and increasingly dangerous threats.
There’s so much I love about these books: botanical magic, friendship, mystery, adventure and a strong connection with the natural world. If you have a child who loves fantasy but also spends their time collecting leaves, growing things or disappearing down nature trails, this series is particularly special.
Having the complete trilogy together as a three-card Yoto collection makes this one of my favourite releases from August so far. Again, this is a series I’ve seen on my area’s BorrowBox so if you’re looking to be able to rent the series it’s worth checking out if you have BorrowBox where you live.
Ideas to Explore Together
- 🌿 Create a Greenwild nature journal, sketching unusual plants and giving them imaginary magical properties. This Mini Journal Project book would be perfect.
- 🌱 Grow something from seed and keep a record of how it changes.
- 🚪 Design your own hidden doorway – where would it lead and what magical world would be behind it?
- 🍃 Go on a nature walk collecting fallen leaves, seeds and interesting natural treasures to inspire your own Greenwild.

The Boxcar Children Collection 3
Age range: 7–10
The Boxcar Children return with four more classic mysteries. This time the Alden children find themselves solving puzzles everywhere from mountains and an old schoolhouse to a railway caboose and a summer spent living on a houseboat.
The collection contains books 9–12:
- Mountain Top Mystery
- Schoolhouse Mystery
- Caboose Mystery
- Houseboat Mystery
A good choice for children who enjoy traditional mysteries where clues, exploration and teamwork are more important than anything particularly frightening.
Ideas to Explore Together
- 🔎 Set up a mini family mystery with clues hidden around the house.
- 🚂 Find out what a caboose is and explore how trains have changed over time.
- 🗺️ Draw a map showing the location of clues for someone else to follow.

Nature Sleep Sounds Around The World
All ages
Something completely different for bedtime: this three-card collection combines gentle instrumental music with sounds recorded from natural environments around the world.
The three soundscapes take listeners to Niagara Falls, Ko Tao in Thailand and the Matterhorn, making them useful not only for settling down at bedtime but also for quiet time, drawing, mindfulness or simply creating a calmer atmosphere. Each card is around 20 minutes in duration.
Ideas to Explore Together
- 🌎 Find all three locations on a globe or map.
- 🎨 Listen while painting or drawing whatever the sounds make you imagine – they don’t just have to be used at bedtime!
- 🧘 Try five minutes of quiet listening and see how many different sounds you can identify.
More New Yoto Cards This Week
There are several other additions in the 20 August drop too – check out the latest new releases here. The US Yoto Card Store gets KIDZ BOP Birthday Party, while French-speaking families have two new Yoto Original adaptations of classic literature: L’Île au trésor (Treasure Island) and Les quatre filles du docteur March (Little Women).

There are also four releases from independent creators, including Tender Tales: Heroes and Helpers, which introduces children to remarkable real-life rescue and humanitarian stories, and Mindful Morning Brush, which combines toothbrushing with short positive mindfulness activities.
Card Drop – 6 August 2026 (Latest)
This week’s card drop is absolutely packed with new releases, so rather than trying to cover every title, I’ve picked out the highlights that I think will appeal to the widest range of families. If you want to see the latest new releases RIGHT NOW then check out this page on Yoto.
All Yoto Card Stores

Marvel: My First Stories
- Ages 3–7
- 40 minutes in duration
If your child is just beginning to discover Marvel superheroes, this looks like a lovely introduction. Instead of action-packed battles, these shorter stories focus on everyday adventures with familiar characters including Spider-Man, Groot, Hulk and Captain America, making them much more suitable for younger listeners.
I can see this being particularly popular with children who love superheroes but aren’t quite ready for the longer Marvel audiobooks.
💡 Ideas to Explore Together
- Design your own superhero and create a costume from things you already have at home.
- Invent a new superpower and write a short adventure together.
- Make superhero masks or shields.
- Read a favourite Marvel picture book alongside the stories.
Mia Megastar: Three Stories in One
- Ages 7–10
- 5 hours and 55 minutes in duration
- A more expensive card but if you’re in the Yoto Club it’s currently (checked 12th August 2026) only 1 credit – so a bargain!
This collection follows Mia as she navigates family life, friendships, drama club and her dream of performing on stage. It sounds funny, relatable and ideal for children who enjoy realistic fiction with plenty of humour.
If your child enjoys Lottie Brooks, this feels like another series worth exploring.
💡 Ideas to Explore Together
- Put on your own family talent show.
- Design a theatre poster.
- Write a short script for a comedy sketch.
- Learn a favourite song together.
- Record yourself performing onto a MYO Yoto card.
Kevin the Sheep Collection
- Ages 3–7
- Only 11 minutes in duration so not the greatest value card but hilarious short stories
Kevin does everything his own way, which leads to lots of funny situations across three stories. With gentle humour and memorable farmyard characters, this sounds like a great choice for younger listeners who enjoy silly stories.
Ideas to Explore Together
- Visit a local farm.
- Make cotton wool sheep crafts.
- Create a small world farm.
- Invent your own funny farm animal story and add it to a MYO Yoto card.

UK, US, Canada & Europe Yoto Card Stores
Supervillain Academy Trilogy
- Ages 9-14
- 6 hours and 13 minutes in duration – it’s three books in total
One of the releases we’re most excited about is the Astrophysics for Supervillains. This science-themed trilogy mixes astrophysics with comedy and adventure, making big ideas feel much more approachable for older children. We’ve ordered this one as we very much enjoyed an online author event with Dr Bothwell early this year. UPDATE: from what we’ve listened to you can follow along with the book. There are a couple of word changes to reflect the fact that you are listening and not reading the book but other than that it’s been word for word.
If your child enjoys STEM subjects but prefers stories over non-fiction, this sounds like a brilliant combination. With the partial solar eclipse happening in the UK on the 12th August 2026 lots of children may spark a deeper interest in the sky.

Ideas to Explore Together
- Go stargazing.
- Visit a local observatory or planetarium.
- Build a balloon rocket or mentos and cola experiment!
- Make a paper solar system.
