Yoto Player and Yoto Mini Poetry Podcasts
One of our favourite things about the Yoto Player and Yoto Mini Player is that you can play podcasts on them. This means oodles of totally free content for your players – woohoo! This post will give you three more podcast suggestions to add to your collection. This time we have three poetry podcasts. Even better – all of these have a download option that you can add to a Tonie Creative Character as well. You’ll find links at the bottom of the post to more podcasts ideas.

3 Poetry Podcasts to Consider
These are three podcasts all with some basis around poetry that we’ve found interesting lately. Feel free to add podcasts you’ve spotted in comments.
🟠YOTO All three can be added to Yoto (use RSS codes as this blog post explains for two of them) one you will need to download.
🔴TONIE All three can be added to a Toniebox as it has a download option.
Check Podcast Content First
As always, it’s important to check the content you are going to share with your child/ren yourself to ensure you are happy with what they are exposed to. I always like to listen to a podcast first before I decide if I think it’s something I’m happy for my daughter Floss to listen to.
🟠🔴Poetry for Kids Podcast
Poetry4Kids is a fun and educational podcast hosted by children’s poet Kenn Nesbitt. Known for his playful, humorous poetry, Nesbitt makes poetry accessible and exciting for young listeners. Each episode typically features lively readings of his original poems, creative wordplay, and rhythmic language that captures children’s imaginations.
The podcast also includes episodes where he shares tips on writing poetry, encouraging children to create their own. It’s a perfect blend of entertainment and learning, designed to spark a love of poetry in kids. Each episode is a micro episode in length.

🟠🔴Buttons & Figs Podcast
This podcast is all about wordplay, nonsense, and creativity. It includes poetry, silly songs, and playful language games that help kids enjoy the rhythm and sound of words. Children often join in to recite or create poetry, making it interactive and fun.
I can’t find an RSS feed that works for this one (I will keep looking). Details of how to download audio below. I would recommend some of the episodes for an older kids audience more – for example the Halloween episodes.

🟠🔴Kids Poetry Club Podcast
This podcast features original poems and stories along with fun, interactive elements that encourage kids to engage with poetry. Each episode often includes themes relevant to kids, like nature, seasons, or friendship, and introduces poetic forms in an accessible way.
It’s a delightful resource for young poetry lovers and curious listeners alike. The podcast seems to have ended in 2023 but there are lots of episodes to keep you busy.
